We aim to achieve the continued existence of our community transport scheme in its current form as it provides such a vital link to the outside world for so many of our regular users as they get older. Our rural area makes vital services difficult and distant to access, making every journey costly. To achieve this goal we must endeavour to make our scheme more sustainable as presently we rely quite heavily on grant funding to subsidise our journeys. Without this subsidy journeys would be unaffordable and this would go against our aims of providing affordable transport to people who need it most. We also want to increase the number of volunteer drivers, as we depend greatly on them to run an effective scheme in such a rural area.
