Clyde Lobb, recently retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF), is the recipient of the Railway Tie Association's (RTA) Branding Hammer Award.rnLobb's career with BNSF began quite modestly. "I was hired by the Santa Fe Railway in Topeka, Kan., as an extra board employee for the Purchases and Materials (P&M) Department in March 1974. Extra board employees were used to fill short vacancies of scheduled employees who were on short-term absences due to vacation, sick or personal leave," he said.
