Mid-Term Check Up

For the past few months I've prepared this column following the same theme as the issue in which it would appear. This month's theme is "profitability." Being a stockholder in the firm I work for, I can speak lovingly and at length about profit. However, while thinking about the column for this month it occurred to me that my term as President is now half gone. At the time I took office the one year term seemed a very long time. Now that the first six months have passed, I realize how little time one year really is. This is especially true in the life of an international, volunteer-run, professional society.
