O'Rourke loses £36m across UK regions

Four out of five of Laing O'Rourke's regional UK construction businesses ran up a cumulative loss of £36m last year. Without the losses, the group's overall £45m pre-tax profit would have been £81m. Each of the sets of figures cover the 12-month period to 31 March 2007. The fifth division, Laing O'Rourke Construction North showed a pre-tax profit of £9m on a turnover of £510m.
