The present article takes an early work of Mathias Spahlinger as a model for discussing the concrete phenomenological ramifications of his aesthetic theory, as outlined in the recent talk, 'this is the time of conceptive ideologues no longer'.1 I seek to answer the question of what a work concept would look like that resists the tendency to form, let alone perpetuate, a conceptive ideology.
