BAA readies Stansted to fly 25 million passengers a year

Stansted Airport is being spruced up to cope with ever-increasing passenger numbers. Jo Kerr went to see the coach station project, while Alasdair Reisner watched the runway team in action. By the time you read this, the roof should be fully inflated on Stansted Airport's new coach station. And no, that is not a misprint. Ever since Foster and Partners designed its iconic terminal with steel 'trees' supporting the roof, BAA has been using Stansted as a testing ground for innovative construction techniques that it can use on its entire airport portfolio.
