On November 13, 2006 the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR 2006) came into force. Previously there were three sets of regulations which controlled exposure to asbestos, namely: 1) The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 (CAWR 2002) 2) The Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations 1983 3) The Asbestos (Prohibitions) Regulations 1992.
