Grove hits the heights with the GTK

Manitowoc has dared to redraw the boundary between tower cranes and mobiles with its distinctive Grove GTK1100, as Andrew Gaved reports. There are always many claims to uniqueness at shows like Bauma but it is a pretty fair bet that this year there will be nothing around much like the Grove GTK1100 from crane giant Manitowoc. At 70 m tall it will be the tallest on the company's stand and among the highest at the show, rubbing shoulders with the tower cranes. But even when it is rigged at 70 m, Manitowoc says it is showing only half the crane's true capability, as its full reach extends to over 140 m.
