Westfield's Mixed Bag

The company behind some of London's biggest shopping centres said problems in the US meant net profits slumped a third in the first half. Australian firm Westf ield is planning to open flagship project Westf ield London by the end of October. It has already begun work on the Stratford City scheme (pictured) in the shadow of the 2012 Olympics Games park. The contractor and developer is bullish about its UK business but net profits were down 35 per cent to A$1.29 billion (￡600m).
