Roads spend set to break ￡1bn in the next year

The Highways Agency is set to spend almost £1.1 billion on major national and regional road projects in the coming financial year.rnThese include hard shoulder running on the M6 J8-loa north of Birmingham; widening of the M25 between J16 and J23 in the northwest and J27 and J30 in the north-east, subject to achieving financial closure; HSR on the Ml J10-13 between Luton and Milton Keynes; and HSR on the M4 J19-20 and M5 J15-17 around Bristol.
