Engineering consultancy Atkins has acquired Danish bridge engineering company Gimsing & Madsen A/S for about ￡2.8 million in cash.The purchase is set to boost Atkins' capability in bridge and tunnel-ling design.J Murphy has appointed former Southern Water chief executive Les Dawson as its new chair-man.Mr Dawson,who has over 30 years' experience in the infrastructure sector, spent six years as chief executive at Southern Water and joined J Murphy this week.
