The race for the ￡100 million contract to build Birmingham City University's new campus has hit the buffers because the recently proposed high speed rail line from London would run through the site.rnLess than a month ago, Bam Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine were chosen from a shortlist of five to submit detailed bids for the university project.rnBut the procurement process has been halted by the university because the Government has earmarked the same site for Birmingham Curzon Street station, which would serve its planned high speed rail network.
