Total net lending to individuals rose by ￡2 billion in January. The 12 month growth rate ticked up to 0.8 per cent according to the Bank of England.rnWithin the total, net lending secured on housing increased by ￡l.5bn, which was above the December increase of ￡l.2bn and the previous six-month average of ￡lbn. Consumer credit increased by ￡500 million in January as the cold weather kept consumers away from the sales.
