Electrical contractor Hulse has ceased trading with the loss of 160 jobs, after 26 years in business. The closure marks the latest low in corporate failures after a half-year in which construction produced the greatest number of administrations of any sector. The £25 million-turnover firm, based in Sutton Coldfield and with offices in Glasgow, has worked on a range of prestigious contracts, including Birmingham's Edgbaston cricket ground, and has worked with major contractors such as Lend Lease and Laing O'Rourke.
