Building information modelling is being touted as the future of construction, allowing the whole supply chain to produce more for less. Until now, uptake has been sporadic. While BIM has its evangelists, it requires a seismic cultural shift and often considerable investment. Construction News brought together clients, contractors, architects and consultants who are at different stages of the adoption of BIM to discuss their experiences so far, and what they see as the next stages.Also present was a representative of the Cabinet Office to set out why the government is mandating BIM and how it sees the industry implementing it.
