Depending on which statistics you read, the UK produces between 10 and 15 million tonnes of food waste every year. Most of this is destined for landfill, where it decomposes to produce greenhouse gases and contribute to global warming. Imtech is working across the UK to turn food waste/biomass into renewable energy. From anaerobic digestion, biomass and waste-to-energy through wind, hydro and advanced thermal, the company has several technologies for creating renewable energy.
