EDF Energy could take a further year before awarding a major contract for the main civils package for Hinkley Point C, according to a source close to the procurement process. Energy minister Charles Hendry this week confirmed that a shortlist of three joint ventures are now competing to win the package, expected to be worth more than £1 billion.
