JV to operate £3l6m link to new wind farm

A joint venture including Balfour Beatty Capital has been selected to own and operate a £316 million link to the 500 MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm. Green Energy Transmission, a joint venture between BB Capital, Equitix and AMP Capital, was selected by Ofgem E-Serve as the preferred bidder to become the offshore transmission owners for the farm off the Suffolk coast. Flour is the main contractor on the Greater Gabbard site, being developed by Scottish and Southern Energy and RWE npower renewables, which could power 530,000 homes.
