This paper presents the analyzed results of using a high-voltage directcurrentrn(HVDC) link based on voltage-source converter (VSC) tornachieve damping improvement of four parallel-operated doubly-fedrninduction generator (DFIG)-based offshore wind farms (OWFs) fed to arnlarge power grid. A frequency-domain scheme based on eigenvaluernanalysis is carried out and a time-domain method based on nonlinearrnmodel simulations is also performed to systematically demonstrate therneffectiveness of the proposed control scheme. It can be concluded fromrnthe simulation results that the proposed VSC-HVDC link can not onlyrnrender adequate damping to the studied four OWFs under variousrnoperating conditions but also effectively mitigate inherent oscillationsrnof the four OWFs under severe disturbance conditions.
