Subcontractor sues Styles & Wood

A subcontractor hired by Styles & Wood to remove asbestos during the renovation of John Lewis's flagship store five years ago claims it is still owed millions of pounds.Natas, which went into administration after the job, is pursuing the shop fitter for work it did as part of Project Beacon -the £65 million refurbishment of the pre-war Oxford Street store.The subcontractor says it was initially awarded a contract worth £84,977 (excluding VAT) to remove asbestos on the north and south escalator atriums, but the cost of the work snowballed to £6.46m as more of the material was found.
