Canary Wharf Contractors is preparing to award the steel contract for its 25 Churchill Place development after securing a £190 million loan facility that will ensure the project goes ahead. Four firms are understood to be in the running for the 23-storey steel-framed building clad in aluminium curtain wall, including Billington/Bourne joint venture BS2, Cleveland Bridge, Severfield Rowen and Victor Buyck. The value of the final contract, expected to be awarded soon, is thought to be around £10m. The £l90m loan facility will help finance the 500,000 sq ft commercial development, half of which has been pre-let to the European Medicines Agency.
