Choose trusted partners or Green Deal will fail, warns CPA

The government must find trusted brands such as John Lewis to provide the Green Deal or risk poor uptake from homeowners, the Construction Products Association has warned. The CPA said poor perceptions of the energy sector, which provides existing retrofitting subsidies, was partly to blame for their low uptake. Speaking the day before the consultation on the Green Deal closed on Wednesday, CPA industry affairs director John Tebbit said: "I think people don't trust energy companies. If the Green Deal can bring new players into the market it may make more people willing to undertake it. If John Lewis said they would do it you're far more likely to do it than with an energy company."
