Vinci targets subbie safety

For the past three years Vinci Construction UK has offered its managers, operatives and supervisors Step-Up health and safety training, which has helped the company to establish a behavioural safety approach and create a cultural benchmark within the business. In the summer of 2011, the company's managing director Andrew Ridley-Barker decided to review the programme to see how it could be improved. The company identified three major themes for its new approach: strong, visible and proactive leadership; respect; and integrity.
