Big firms in hunt for £261m highways alliance

Twelve contractors are in the running for the new Midlands Highway Alliance medium schemes framework 2. The framework consists of two lots with a projected value of £261m from April 2014 to March 2017. Lafarge Tarmac has teamed up with Carillion to bid for both lots, while Aggregate Industries is bidding with Galliford Try in Lot 2. The remaining firms are sole contractors,with Aggregate Industries and Galliford Try bidding separately in Lot 1.
