The start of January has bought some big contract updates, with CNinsight recording more than ￡4bn of wins or signed deals in the first week back from the Christmas break. The ￡2bn New Covent Garden Market redevelopment formed a sizeable chunk of that sum as Vinci and St Modwen's joint venture signed a contract for the scheme 10 months after being named as preferred bidder. Meanwhile the ￡1.1bn Sellafield Strategic Alliance contract to work on the power station was signed by Morgan Sindall and Arup.
