PF2 mooted for hospital deal

Private finance 2 could play a part in the survival of the dilapidated Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, with Bouygues now among the final two bidders in place of Kier. Plans for a vital ￡84 million overhaul at the hospital in Stanmore were submitted last week, with Balfour Beatty and Bouygues waiting in the wings as preferred bidders. The trust's chief executive said the hospital's future depends on the redevelopment, which could turn to PF2, the replacement for the private finance initiative, for part of its funding.
