Skanska to add 1,500 UK staff for growth drive

Skanska is planning to create 1,500 new construction jobs in the UK over the next two to three years. The new jobs will be needed to complete major rail, water, building and roads projects Skanska has already won, as well as for future growth, the company said. On Tuesday prime minister David Cameron visited Skanska's UK head office in Hertfordshire to discuss £36bn of spending on UK infrastructure for 2014/15 that could support more than 150,000 construction jobs. He made a joint appearance with chancellor George Osborne to highlight more than 200 projects in rail, road, local transport, flood defences, broadband, aviation and waste management that are due to start in 2014/15.
