The EC published a damning initial assessment last month on the contract agreement between EDF and the UK government. The EC is scrutinising the agreement under the government's contracts for difference, agreed last October and its offer to EDF of a guaranteed price (a 'strike price') of £92.60 per MWh forthe electricity generated at the plant over a 35-year period - around twice the current wholesale price of power.
