It seems not a week goes by without the discovery of an unexploded wartime bomb making the headlines. Just last week, a bomb was identified on the site of new student accommodation close to Coventry University. Other construction site discoveries in the past couple of months have included Bethnal Green, Wokingham, and Westfield in Shepherd's Bush, to name but a few. For every major unexploded ordnance (UXO) story such as these, there are numerous smaller discoveries on a weekly basis that often go unreported.
