Renamed the Trellis and measuring 304.9 m in height, it will be the City of London's tallest tower and the second highest in Western Europe after the Shard. Planners gave it the green light in November, which will pave the way for the existing Aviva Tower to be demolished to make way for its 73-storey replacement. Once built, it will provide 130,000 sq m of office space as well as more than 2,000 sq m for retail. But does the UK industry have the capacity to actually build it? All eyes will be on its developer, Singapore-based Aroland Holdings, to see whether it charges full steam ahead or decides to put the brakes on.
