This month is crucial in determining the future of UK infrastructure. In the past week alone we've seen some interesting decisions and messages. First, the Neighbourhood Planning Bill had the word 'infrastructure' removed from its title, and the plans to place the National Infrastructure Commission on a statutory footing deleted from its provisions. Then, Heathrow announced it would shave £3bn off its proposals for a third runway in a bid to improve its chances of gaining approval.
