Two-year pay deal agreed for CIJC workers

Unions and employers have reached a pay deal for the 400,000 workers covered by the Construction Industry Joint Council agreement. The Ucatt, Unite and GMB unions agreed a two-year settlement with a pay increase of 2.5 per cent from 25 July and a further 2.75 per cent in June 2017. Sick pay and subsistence allowance will increase at least in line with these rises. Travel allowances will be paid in miles rather than kilometres.
