SRM boss: Blacklisting 'in the past'

Sir Robert McAlpine boss Paul Hamer has said blacklisting "has no place now or in the future" at his firm. In a letter to Construction News,Mr Hamer,who joined McAlpine as chief executive from WYG in June this year, said the contractor was committed fully to "ensuring that blacklisting stays firmly in the past". "We have a zero-tolerance policy towards blacklisting, illegal or unfair recruitment practices," he wrote. "Since my arrival, it has been one of my priorities to review the company's HR and recruitment functions.
