Worker blacklist boss gave evidence to MPs two weeks before his death

The boss of a firm that kept a blacklist of workers on behalf of some of the biggest names in construction has died, just two weeks after giving evidence to a committee of MPs investigating the illegal activity. Ian Kerr appeared before the Scottish Affairs Select Committee at Westminster in November to answer questions about his role in the Consulting Association - the West Midlands firm that was shut down by the Information Commissioner in 2009 for illegally gathering and making available to subscribers information on and personal details of more than 3200 building workers.
