Alexandra Palace has a special place in the hearts of Londoners. Perched on the top of a hill overlooking some of London's leafiest suburbs, the Victorian 'Palace of the People' has put up with much in the 140-odd years since it first opened. Gutted twice by fire, it has risen from the ashes to become a highly successful concert and exhibition venue as well as a landmark in the history of modern media.
