Network Rail has been fined £800,000 following an incident that saw a track worker suffer "life-changing injuries" after being hit by a train. In June 2014, Network Rail track maintenance manager Allen Evans was struck by a train while carrying out rail maintenance work near Redhill, Surrey. Mr Evans was left with multiple injuries. Network Rail was fined following a prosecution brought by the Office of Road and Rail.
