Crane specialist embraces evolving market

Back in April, New London Architecture, working with property consultancy GL Hearn, published its latest report on high-rise development in the capital. Containing several record-breaking statistics, the Tall Buildings Survey made for compelling reading. Its conclusions have major implications forthe crane industry, says Edward Seager, managing director at tower crane specialist Bennetts. According to the research, at the end of 2017 a record 510 towers of 20 storeys or more were either under construction or in the pipeline, representing a substantial increase on the 455 such buildings in 2016. What's more, the report makes it clear that these are serious projects. By the end of last year, work had started on 115 of the 510 - a record proportion.
