Analysis of new HMRC data has revealed the total value of claims among the UK's largest 100 firms by turnover fell from £4.3m in February to £3.9m in March. Litigation Capital Management has agreed to provide funds for a potential legal claim against the contractor's auditor, KPMG. The claim, linked to the auditing of Carillion's financial statements, centres on losses of over £250m. The claim by the official receiver has not yet been lodged. Around 1,700 new workers will be needed at the nuclear power plant over the next 12 months. New jobs will include roles in general construction, welding, electrical and equipment installation and other supporting functions. EDF said it would continue working with colleges and training facilities in Somerset to help train local people and that the project has created more than 11,700 jobs to date.
