VolkerWessels axes bids on low-ball tenders

VolkerWessels chief executive Alan Robertson said his firm has walked away from potential work due to "behaviours" from other firms on the tender list. Mr Robertson said low-ball bidding is difficult to prevent, but that his firm has declined to proceed with bids as a result. He told CN: "There are certain players who, if they are on a tender list, we walk away because we don't like their behaviours. "They will buy work [too cheaply],mess up the industry and walk away."
