The introduction of controversial employment-tax changes have been delayed for a year due to the impact of coronavirus. Chief secretary to the Treasury Steve Barclay confirmed that the new rules, known as IR35, which were due to come into force next month, would be delayed until April 2021. The government said it remained committed to reintroducing the policy but, for now, was focused on helping individuals and businesses during the spread of COVID-19.
