April was a good month for construction shares, with their rises outpacing those of the somewhat mixed mainstream indicators. However, the gains were not as pronounced as a month previously, and there were losses for some key shares and sectors.rnBut with the CET Index for the sector rising +4,10% between weeks 12 and 17, the construction sector as a whole was markedly stronger than the more widely watched stock market indicators. The most buoyant of these was the Dow, which put on only a +1;54% gain over the same period, although this did see it break through the 11000-point barrier for the first time since the collapse of Lehman Bros.
