Flood relief project

摘要

Five Doosan crawler excavators were put to work on a flood relief project in Lancashire, UK. The machines, the biggest of which was a 34 tonne DX340LC, helped construct a new underground stormwater storage tank with a diameter of 25m and a depth of 22m, to help prevent sewers overflowing and flooding the surrounding area during periods of heavy rainfall. The new tank is part of the £5.3 million (€6 million) sewer upgrade project being carried out by Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions working with the Network Construction Alliance on behalf of United Utilities. The range of applications for the DX340LC excavator runs from heavy construction and excavation to development of construction sites, construction and renovation of highways and other large works of civil engineering, as well as mining and quarrying.
