Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has won the QAR1.06 billion (€210 million) contract to build Phase 1 of the North Gate Mall and Office Buildings in Doha, Qatar. The client for the mixed-use project is local developer North Gate WLL. The site of the development is on Doha's Al Shamal Road, north of the city's West Bat business district and HLG describes the scheme as a mid- to premium development. Phase 1 will comprise a total built area of 375000m2. The complex will include underground and overground car parks, a three level mall and five and six-level office buildings. Construction is due to start immediately, with completion due in March 2014.
