World Bank bridge probe

The offices of Canadian construction company SNC Lavalin have been raided by Canadian authorities over allegations of corruption in the bidding process for a €2.2 billion bridge project in Bangladesh. The World Bank, which approved €893 million in funding for the Padma Multipurpose Bridge in January but has not yet disbursed the money, said its investigative branch referred concerns over SNC Lavalin to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
