Dark clouds of debt

Having suffered steep falls in August, share prices bounced back a little in September. However, the continued uncertainty over Greece's national debt and its implications for the future of the Euro mean the markets remained very jumpy. The autumn has seen the problems around the Greek debt mountain grow steadily worse. Leaders of other Euro-zone economies still insist that spending cuts, tax rises, market reforms and privatisation of state industries are the way out for Greece.
