Italian energy company Eni and its subsidiary Saipem are being investigated by Italian authorities over allegations of bribery relating to engineering contracts in Kuwait and Iraq. Two employees - one non-executive manager responsible for procurement in Iraq from Eni and one executive responsible for Kuwait contracts at Saipem - are under investigation by the Milan prosecutor, the companies said. Eni said, "Eni and Saipem were served search warrants in relation to the offices of two employees with reference to alleged crimes committed by said employees with third parties and related to the award of tenders by companies of the Eni Group to third companies,"
