A dozen innovative construction machines and components have been shortlisted for awards at this year's International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF). The quality and quantity of entries from the industry were such that two categories were created - one for components and on-board systems, and one for complete machines. In the Construction Equipment Design Innovation category for components, there are three entries from Caterpillar paving's road building equipment - its fumes management system for asphalt pavers, the Mobil Trac undercarriage for pavers, and the machine drive power control system for compactors.
