DPF retrofit service

Johnson Matthey offers diesel paniculate filter (DPF) ' retrofit advice for contractors whose machines must operate in countries or zones where DPFs have been made mandatory whatever the emissions compliancy of the engine. The manufacturer highlighted the fact that sites in the UK capital, London, currently require DPFs to be fitted to existing equipment even before the new Low Emission Zone rules come into force. The DPFs feature different regeneration systems - a process of periodically burning off diesel paniculate matter (PM) trapped inside a filter to prevent it from blocking - ranging from a simple fuel burner known as DPF-BU, to electric heater systems, known as DPFi, and systems that use catalysts to oxidise the PM trapped in the filter (known as DPFis and DPF-(c)CRT systems).
