The latest data and a survey on the UK construction sector point to cautious optimism for a recovery, after the industry had registered its lowest output for 14 years this May. The second quarter State of Trade Survey from the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) saw growth for the first time since 2007. It showed positive results across the UK for net balance for workloads, expected workloads and enquiries for the three months to the end of June. And the UK's Construction Products Association also reported an increase in the sale of construction products for the second quarter of 2013, following a slow start to the year through bad weather. Meanwhile, The UK government has launched a strategy which it hopes will make British construction a stronger force in a global construction market it said was destined to see 70% growth by the year 2025.
