Airport ground improvement

Bauer Indonesia has completed ground improvement work at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Indonesia. The airport is one of the largest in Asia, with an annual passenger volume of about 63 million. Bauer Pratama Indonesia, the local subsidiary of Bauer Spezialtiefbau, was commissioned by Hutama Karya as main contractor to carry out the ground improvement work for the construction of the new connection taxiway. The project title was East Connection Taxiway Phase 1, which included two main tasks - extensive ground improvement for the connection between the north and south runways, and foundation work for a taxiway bridges over the main access road. This project was a continuation of the previous Secondary Apron scheme that was completed on May 2017. The ground improvement was executed with 5 to 16m deep full displacement columns over a total area of 199,000m~2.
